My ten years of working at our local scrapbook store (Cat's Creations that closed 3 years ago) paid off! I couldn't help but think of my former employer (Cathy Beaty) as I made "kits" to have ready if anyone wanted to make a card.
I created 2 cards to give people an option. I tried to make them simple. That's harder than you think to determine what might be simple for someone who hasn't ever created a card when it seems so easy to me.
This card made with a lamb and stars is stamped on white paper with a black mat. This required stamping the lamb then stamping again to make the sentiment "Believe. The finishing touch was the glitter glue for the stars. The down-side to this card was the amount of time to allow the glue to dry. I didn't think that through very good. After the fact it occurred to me that I could have used a small rhinestone in the star. I'll know better the next time.
The next card looks way more complicated but is actually very easy to make. It was really fun too as there were several techniques used for this one. This ended up being the most popular card. It was my favorite too!
Dry and heat embossing was used plus using a die-cut.
The Market did a Facebook Live. You can see it here.
I also did a Facebook Live from Light in My Pathways's page. I wasn't connected to the wifi so the quality wasn't as good. You can see that here.
The Market was humming with lots of people. Many walked by my demonstration table. I would ask if they would like to make a card. Most of them would shake their heads and mumble something about "not being creative" or "maybe later." I think the cards were intimidating.
A friend of Kennedy's came to The Market with her mom. She wanted to make a card.
She did a great job!
Helping another little girl make a card with some bigger ones lined up to do the same 😉.
Miss Mea cutting out her sentiment for the front of her card.
Finished product! Mea did a great job!
These young ladies made my day. None of them had ever made a card. Their friend and owner's daughter Macy talked them into trying. They were each able to make this elegant Christmas card. I think those smiles show just how proud of themselves they are 😊!
They even stamped the inside!
They were so much fun!
My dear sweet friend Julianne came by to show support for me. She had never made a card either. Pretty good for a first time don't you think?!
This day was proof anyone can make a card.
I did one more Facebook live before the end of the day. You can see it here.
I made about 20 kits and used about half of them. I did receive lots of exposure that day. I had lots of fun and will do it again if The Market chooses to do so.
Here are some of the sets available in the online store and The Market.
Christmas season is upon us. I will be making sets of the cards above I used the day I was featured at The Market to put in the store and have in The Market.
Don't delay if you like what you see. I can't promise how long they will last!
May Light be in your pathway 😍
